One of RFID’s great advantages over other data media (such as magnetic strips, barcodes, contact chip technology) is the fact that it can communicate over distance. The RFID transponder need be in neither physical nor optical contact with the reader, which is a great aid in accelerating many processes. 

The lack of contact between transponder and reader (as compared with insert or swipe systems) means that there is no mechanical wear to the reader, so it has a longer service life and longer service intervals. 

RFID media can take an endless variety of forms – plastic cards, paper ticket, coins, keychains, labels – to meet the specific application. 

RFID chips are quickly and reliably identified by the reader and provide secure data transfer. Multiple chips can be read in parallel without data loss or system error (anticollision).
