RFID Tickets

The future of ticketing is contactless. RFID technology enables fast, secure ticketing in public transportation.

Access control and time entry (tickets and cards) are central applications for contactless communication. Public transportation involves both, and RFID technology is increasingly used in this area.

Smart tickets combine the advantages of paper tickets and contactless chip cards. The low material costs (paper instead of PVC etc.) give them much lower unit costs, while offering all the benefits of RFID technology: fast, convenient, and secure data transfer without contact.

RFID tickets are the newcomer RFID medium. Their potential is greatest in applications heretofore covered by cardboard tickets and contactless chip cards. This includes ski resorts, stadiums and event venues. Currently they are being particularly extensively considered for use in public transportation.

Naturally, RFID tickets can be printed the same way as conventional paper tickets. They also can be post-printed by thermal printer in the same way as regular paper tickets.
